Provider review

Speed: a Bitcoin payment layer that can sit beside the POS.

Speed is especially relevant to merchants whose existing POS does not offer native Bitcoin. Its browser-based terminal and Lightning focus can add a Bitcoin checkout path without a full POS migration.

Why merchants should look at it

Speed offers Bitcoin and stablecoin payments across Lightning and on-chain flows. Its browser terminal can run on a web-connected device, which makes it a practical option to evaluate alongside an existing restaurant or retail POS.

Pricing

Speed currently publishes a 1% transaction fee for payments from external wallets and 0% for payments made from Speed Wallet, with no monthly fee or setup cost listed on its pricing page. Volume discounts may be available.

Legacy POS fit

This is Speed's strongest angle for Bitcoin4Retail's audience: the payment experience can be a separate QR/browser layer instead of requiring the merchant to replace its core POS. Deeper integrations are also available for larger implementations.

Affiliate program

Speed publicly advertises an affiliate partner program for merchants referred to the platform. Its current partner page states a 50% commission on transaction commission and describes up to 0.5% commission per referred merchant transaction. Program terms can change, so we verify commercial terms separately from the product review.
